COASTLINE

COASTLINE

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Client: Coastline Landscape and Design

Project: Branding & Visual Identity Development

Coastline Landscape and Design needed a cohesive brand identity that reflected their dedication to creating beautiful, sustainable, outdoor spaces. The goal was to create a visual identity that resonated with their target audience, evoking a sense of professionalism, reliability, and connection to nature and the coast.

Design Process

Discovery & Research

To begin, my team and I conducted a thorough analysis of the landscape design industry in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This research helped us understand the visual language that would appeal to Coastline’s audience-homeowners looking for premium landscaping services. We also held discussions with the client to get a deeper insight into their values, vision, and preferences before moving forward with the design process.

Logo Design

The primary and secondary logos were designed to convey a strong connection to both the coastline and the landscape. The logo’s fluid wave-like forms symbolize the harmony between nature and the expertly crafted outdoor spaces Coastline provides. The decision to use variations of blue hues was intentional to evoke calmness, trust, and professionalism.

Concept Development

Based on the insights gathered, we started sketching out concepts that would best represent Coastline’s brand ethos. The client emphasized their connection to nature and their coastal location, which inspired us to incorporate elements that would reflect these themes visually.

Typography and Color Palette

We selected Montserrat as the brand’s typeface for its modern, clean, and highly legible qualities. Montserrat Semi Bold was chosen for headlines and the primary logo to ensure the brand name stood out among competitors, while Montserrat Medium is used for body text, maintaining consistency and readability across all materials.

The color palette was carefully chosen to reflect the natural environment that Coastline works within. The deep ‘Ocean Blue’ and ‘Blue Jay’ shades convey stability and trust, while ‘Powder Blue’ adds a refreshing and approachable touch. ‘Basil Green was selected to embody the lush, natural landscapes that the brand creates and maintains.

The final branding for Coastline Landscape and Design is a blend of professionalism and deep connection to nature. The logos, color palette, and typography come together to create a cohesive identity that communicates the brand’s values-expertise, trust, and sustainability. Every element was chosen to appeal to their target audience, ensuring that the brand stands out in a competitive market while staying true to its core mission.

This project was a rewarding experience as it allowed me to explore the balance between modern design trends and timeless elements that resonate with a specific audience. The successful collaboration with Coastline Landscape and Design resulted in a brand identity that not only looks good by also deeply aligns with their business goals.
